uva-logo-new2UVa. retained the top ranking in the Baseball America national poll despite losing its season opener against Kentucky on Friday.

The Cavs finished the weekend 2-1 with dominating victories over VMI and CAA preseason favorite UNC-Wilmington, getting four-hit ball from Nathan Kirby on Saturday and no-hit stuff over six innings from Josh Sborz in Sunday’s win.

Oregon State (3-0), Cal State-Fullerton (2-1), Florida State (3-0) and south carolina (3-0) round out the top five.

Other ACC teams in the Top 25 include NC State (0-1) at #6, Clemson (2-1) at #13, and North Carolina (1-1) at #17.
