augusta-health-headerAugusta Health’s Main Laboratory in Fishersville has been re-accredited by the College of American Pathologists (CAP) after an on-site inspection.

During the accreditation process, inspectors examined the laboratory’s records and quality control of procedures for the preceding two years.  They also examined laboratory staff qualifications, equipment, facilities, safety program and record, and overall management.  The federal government recognizes the CAP Laboratory Accreditation Program as being equal to, or more stringent than, its own inspection program.

Christopher A. Novotny, MD, was advised of the re-accreditation and congratulated by the surveyors for the excellence of the services provided by the laboratory.  Augusta Health’s Main Laboratory is one of more than 7,000 CAP-accredited facilities around the world.
