Augusta County is collecting donations for flood victims in Southwest Virginia and North Carolina and will deliver items by air and truck.
Local pilots have volunteered to assist in the effort with plans to fly items on Oct. 4-5 to assist those in the path of Hurricane Helene.
A semi-truck shipment is also planned.
Items are being collected in the front parking lot of the Government Center in Verona.
Items may be dropped off anytime, but donors are asked to leave items under the Sheriff’s Office tents in the parking lot.
