Albemarle County | Police make arrest in string of shoplifting incidents from big-box stores

A man wanted for thefts at multiple big box stores in Albemarle County is now in police custody.

Brian C. Tichner, 36, of Dyke, was arrested on Wednesday for multiple shoplifting warrants and felony credit card theft.

The Albemarle County Police Department has charged Tichner with:

  • Felony credit card theft (§18.2-192)
  • Shoplifting (§18.2-103)
  • Petit larceny (§18.2-96)

Tichner is being held at the Albemarle-Charlottesville Regional Jail without bond.

Investigators believe Tichner may be a suspect in additional thefts and shoplifting cases in the area. Additional charges are pending.
