Albemarle County | Police locate vehicle implicated in hit-and-run, driver not involved

The Albemarle County Police Department has identified the driver in the photograph it released earlier today and determined they were not involved in the hit-and-run incident.

ACPD is continuing to ask the public to come forward with any information that would lead to locating the suspect vehicle and to check their dash cam footage.

The Albemarle County Police Department has released a photo of the suspect vehicle in a hit-and-run incident in Esmont early Thursday.

As a result of the incident, a child sustained an injury to their foot and was transported to UVA Health for treatment. The injuries were not considered life-theatening.

ACPD is asking the public for help locating the driver of the dark sedan pictured.

The crash occurred between 7:10 and 7:25 a.m. on Sept. 4.

The low-resolution image shows a vehicle that was traveling along Porters Road around the time of the incident which occurred at the intersection with King Solomons Lane.

The incident is under investigation.

ACPD is looking for potential dash cam footage for information related to this incident.
