ACC-leading Florida State nips #16 UVa.

Partner News

A 14-0 run gave Virginia a one-point lead late, but a long three by Michael Snaer gave Florida State the cushion it needed in a 58-55 win on Saturday in Tallahassee.

#16 UVa. (18-4, 5-3 ACC) had two chances in the final minute to tie it, but Joe Harris and Sammy Zeglinski missed three-pointers. A Malcolm Brogdon three with 2.7 seconds left brought the Cavs back within three, and then Snaer missed the front end of a one-and-one.

Mike Scott rebounded the miss, but Virginia was not able to get a shot off at the end.

A Snaer three at the 4:28 mark gave the Seminoles the lead for good at 47-45. Another Snaer three-pointer from NBA range at 1:59 gave State a 53-48 lead, and Virginia would get no closer than three the rest of the way.

Scott and Joe Harris each had 16 points for Virginia. Okara White scored 13 points off the bench to lead Florida State.
