With topics ranging from Community Development and Education to Public Policy and Arts and Entertainment, participants are encouraged to engage in Team Building, Leadership and Workplace Communication. To further enhance the participant’s experience, each session is held at a location relevant to specific session topics and conducted by session leaders, who are mostly alumni of the program, and experts in various fields.

Leadership Harrisonburg-Rockingham is overseen by a Steering Committee made up of Leadership alumni and administered by the Harrisonburg-Rockingham Chamber of Commerce.

“This is one of the largest classes we have ever had, which speaks volumes about the Leadership program’s continued improvement and it value to our community” according to Beth Bland, Committee Co-Chair. The program has been in existence since 1979 and has produced more than 930 graduates, many of whom hold key positions in local business, government and the community today.
