jmu logoWith a 3-0 start to the 2014 season, the JMU women’s soccer team vaulted into the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) and Soccer America national polls Tuesday, checking in at No. 24 and No. 25, respectively.

The Dukes also ranked No. 1 in the Mid-Atlantic region, trading places with Boston University, who was No. 1 last week.

A come-from-behind 2-1 victory at Wake Forest helped propel the Dukes into the polls. The Demon Deacons were the 24th-ranked team in the NSCAA poll before falling to JMU.

In last week’s polls, James Madison received votes in the NSCAA poll but was not ranked in the Soccer America poll.

Both polls are released every Tuesday throughout the regular season.

The Dukes return to action Friday, Sept. 5, at home against Navy. JMU then welcomes VCU to University Park onSunday, Sept. 7. Both matches are set for a 7 p.m. kickoff.
