The Shenandoah Valley friends of lieutenant governor candidate E.W. Jackson will host a “God & Country” benefit dinner for Jackson at 6:30 p.m., Monday, July 29, at JMU’s Festival Conference and Student Center. The public is invited.
A Marine Corps veteran, graduate of Harvard Law School, former entrepreneur and small business attorney, radio talk show host, pastor, and champion of Constitutional principles, Jackson won the GOP nomination in May over six other candidates by decisive margins.
As a central part of his campaign, Jackson has launched a growing grassroots movement to “Let Liberty Light the Way for Virginia”. Widely recognized as one of the most powerful voices of this generation for limited government, lower taxes, reduced regulatory burdens, and states’ rights, he is also an outspoken advocate of family values, religious liberty, parental choice in education, and second amendment rights.
“We are thrilled to welcome E.W. Jackson back to the Valley after numerous appearances in recent years,” said Dr. John Sloop, chaplain of the Valley Family Forum. “He has played an important role in modeling and encouraging people of faith and of principle to stand up and speak out for their beliefs and to be actively engaged in their local, state and national government. That is a message we all need to hear.”
The program will include retired Lt. Gen. William G. “Jerry” Boykin, a 36-year Army veteran and one of the original founders of the Army’s Delta Force. Boykin currently serves as the Family Research Council’s executive vice president.
He will be joined by Josh Duggar, the oldest son on the popular TV series entitled “19 Kids and Counting” that millions of Americans have enjoyed watching since its debut in 2008. The dinner will also feature a medley of patriotic music by the Allreds, an award-winning trio from Staunton.
