A Maryland woman is dead following an early-morning crash on Interstate 95 on Thursday in Hanover County.

Stella Ogechi Amadi, 56, of Windsor Mill, Md., was transported to VCU Medical Center where she later died.

Two tractor trailers were involved in the crash but do not appear to be at fault, according to Virginia State Police.

The 4:25 a.m. crash occurred on Interstate 95 northbound at the 97 mile marker.

A Lexus SUV, driven by Amadi, made a sudden and drastic maneuver into the center lane of I-95, according to VSP. A tractor trailer behind the SUV attempted to avoid a collision by merging into the left lane.

The SUV then struck the tractor trailer, pushing it into a second tractor trailer in the right lane. The SUV ran off the roadway to the left and struck two trees. The two tractor trailers collided, causing one to jackknife, before both trucks caught on fire. The fire was quickly extinguished.

The truck drivers were not injured.

This crash remains under investigation.
