Hatemailbag: The MAGAs come out in force for Abigail Spanberger

It seems that the MAGAs who like to help us make money by hateposting on our AFP Facebook page are confused about why their electric bills went up this year.

Confused, yeah, sure.

Not used to getting fact-checked, is more like it.

Beware, folks.

We’re about to unleash the power of SEO on a couple of y’all.

First dude:

Didn’t she just okay another rate hike for Dominion Power? Come on, Augusta Free Press. You can do better. Most of us know that, and you act like it doesn’t matter to us.

Thiswas from a Bernard Larry Hill, who identifies himself as a former public information office at the Virginia Department of Health.

Our new friend Bernie Larry was posting on a thread under our story headlined:

Good thing for us taxpayers that this guy is retired.

Hill seems to be unaware that the rate increase the entity that “okayed” the recent rate increase for Dominion was the State Corporation Commission, not the governor’s office.

The SCC isn’t appointed by and doesn’t answer to the governor; the Virginia Constitution set up the Commission as a fully independent state body.

You’d think that a guy who worked for the state for 24 years, which is what he claims on his online resume, would know the basics there.

Come on, Bernie Larry, you can do better.

We know why you act like it doesn’t matter that it was actually the SCC that approved the rate increase – because you can’t blame Spanberger for this latest rate increase, and the one approved by the SCC in 2025, before Spanberger took office, if you can get away with pretending that the rate increase is her fault.

It’s sad how deep into the talent pool we had to reach to dredge this guy up to be a PIO for the state health department.

One other winner on that thread to point out here: Dan Mirolli, who advertises himself on his Facebook page as “Professional Photographer & Videographer located in Roanoke Virginia.”

I’d be wary booking this guy.

His comment on the Spanberger story:

Based on the obvious bias in the headline, it’s clear, the political affiliation of the Augusta ‘free press’.

Like we hide that, Danno.

But, hey, glad to help your business in Roanoke, which, from what I understand, skews D – Kamala Harris got 60 percent of the vote in the city in 2024, for instance.

Democrats are notoriously much more likely to research the political leanings of the people they do business with.

With our SEO, this Hatemailbag item is about to be the first thing people see about this guy when they research him on the old Google machine.

We’re here to help ol’ Mr. Miroli get the level of business that he deserves.
