The award-winning band programs at Shelburne Middle School and Staunton High School will present three concerts on Sunday showcasing the musical talents of Queen City students.

The day of music at the John Lewis Auditorium at SHS begins at 3 p.m. with Shelburne Middle School’s sixth-grade band taking the stage for their first-ever public performance.

At 4 p.m., the seventh- and eighth-grade bands from Shelburne will follow with their performances.

After a brief intermission, the evening will conclude with the Staunton High School Concert and Symphonic Bands at 6:30 p.m.

“These performances will showcase the pieces that our band students have been working on so far this school year,” said Jon Wilson, the band director at Staunton High School. “We’re really proud of our students and are thrilled to give the community a taste of the talent in our growing band programs this holiday season.”

The Shelburne band program is led by Charlie Nesmith and Hannah Greer-Young.

Admission to all concerts is free and open to the public.
