George Mason blitzed the Bobcats (1-5) from the start, hitting eight first-half three-pointers to lead by 19 (52-33) at the break. The Patriots finished with a season-high 14 threes on 31 attempts (45.2 percent) and dished out a season-best 18 assists while committing a season-low six turnovers.
“My staff is phenomenal in the way we scout and prep our guys with information,” head coach Tony Skinn said. “We took Ohio out of rhythm, and we took care of the basketball tonight. Defensively, especially in the first half, we got after it and set the tone. I’m proud of our guys.”
Kory Mincy led the Green & Gold with 22 points and hit a career-high six threes.
Masai Troutman added 18 points (7-of-10 FG, 4-of-4 3FG), five rebounds and two assists, while Jahari Long dished out a career-best eight assists to go with nine points (3-of-5 3FG) in 28 minutes.
