The City of Staunton is setting its priorities to guide decision-making for the next 20 years, and the public has one more chance to weigh in.

The city government will host a community open house for its comprehensive plan update on Monday, Nov. 10, from 5:30 to 7 p.m.

It is the last of three public meetings designed to gather feedback to shape the city’s future. Among the items under consideration: housing, transportation, parks, economic growth and neighborhood character.

Informational displays and interactive stations will be set up to share goals and priorities of residents of Staunton.

“The comprehensive plan is built through listening, hearing what residents value most and what they’d like to see in Staunton’s future,” said Rodney Rhodes, community development director. “This open house is another step in that process, and we hope residents will join the conversation.”

A final survey will be launched following the open house.

The comprehensive plan update is expected to be completed in early 2026. The current comp plan was completed in 2019 and runs through 2040.

The open-house event will take place at Bessie Weller Elementary School, located at 600 Greenville Ave.
