A home in Crozet caught fire overnight displacing one person and their pet dog.

Career and volunteer units from Albemarle County Fire Rescue responded to the single-family residence in the 5000 block of Brook View Road at 1:10 a.m.

The first fire suppression apparatus arrived on the scene approximately 10 minutes after the fire was reported and discovered smoke and flames.

The occupant of the home and their pet dog were able to self-evacuate.

No injuries have been reported from this incident.

The displaced resident is being assisted by family and friends.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by the Albemarle County Fire Marshal’s Office. It does not appear suspicious in nature.
