A Staunton man is in custody on several charges, including rape and forcible sodomy.

Chiejio Ja’Meze Davis, 37, was arrested on Thursday as the Augusta County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at a residence in Briarwood Apartments in Fishersville.

A release from ACSO offered only the barest of detail about the arrest – pretty much the charges and that a SWAT team, K9 team and drone team were used in the process, which had the assistance of the U.S. Marshal’s Office.

The online court database tells us that the offense date was Sept. 28, so, Monday of this week.

We also see a long list of prior criminal charges in the database for him dating back to 2014.

Davis is currently being held without bond at the Middle River Regional Jail.
