Waynesboro Police issued an “update” on the investigation into the Sept. 2 shooting at Westwood Hills Elementary School on Friday.

The reason for the quotation marks around the word “update”: there was no updated information in the “update.”

“Waynesboro detectives, with support from multiple other law enforcement agencies and specialized resources, continue to receive and review information as they investigate this complex case,” the PD reported in a Facebook post.

“The Waynesboro Police Department is fully committed to utilizing all available resources in this investigation. At this stage, detectives are working to confirm a substantial amount of information to ensure we provide only accurate details to the public. While we do not have any new specific details to share with the public at this moment, we want to assure everyone that this remains an active and ongoing investigation.”

There you have it.

A nothingburger, with all the fixins.
