VMI is coming off a doubleheader split with Northern Kentucky University this Saturday, winning the first game 8-3, but dropping the nightcap 7-6. The Keydets received stellar pitching performances in each game.

Junior right-hander Jacob Menders completed seven innings in the opener, allowing just three hits, one walk and no earned runs with four strikeouts to pick up the victory. Junior Zak Kent and freshman Adam Jewell combined for 22 strikeouts in the second game to post a new school record. Kent fanned nine batters in his 4 1/3 innings, while Jewell was electric in his 4 2/3 innings with 13 strikeouts, one hit and no walks.

Binghamton split a pair of games at Marshall University last weekend, winning the first game 3-1 on Friday before falling 4-3 in 15 innings on Saturday, losing on a wild pitch. The Bearcats have yet to play a home game this season and travel to Florida and Georgia next week.
