Derick Heath Ackelson, 43 years old, is now a wanted man. Ackelson was scheduled to appear in Waynesboro General District Court on Monday for a preliminary hearing for the August grand larceny charge but was a no show.

Virginia State Police were notified this morning that a second driver has died as a result of injuries sustained in a Wednesday crash in Rockingham County. Sarah M. Hensley, 35, of Elkton, Va., passed away at UVA Medical Center early Friday morning (Oct. 3).

The Waynesboro Police Department has charged a Staunton man for a sexual assault that took place in early September at a Waynesboro apartment complex. Daniel Matthew Vest Jr., 18 years old, faces one felony count of rape for the Labor Day attack of a 54-year-old victim.
