Something troubling is coming down the pike now that the Obama administration has announced its new Clean Power Plan. In a full-speed-ahead quest to lower carbon dioxide emissions from the nation’s power plants, the administration is implementing new Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) rules that raise troubling legal issues.

Republicans in the Virginia House of Delegates pre-filed the first legislation of the 2016 General Assembly session Monday, laying the foundation for a strong policy agenda on transportation, energy, education and the economy. Monday is the first day Delegates and Senators can file legislation for the 2016 session.

This past week, as our nation came together on Veterans Day to honor those who have served our country, I traveled across the Fifth District and talked with many of Virginia’s brave veterans. In addition to attending several Veterans Day events, I visited McGuire VA Medical Center, the Salem VA Medical Center, and three Community-Based Outpatient Clinics, more commonly known as CBOCs, in Danville, Lynchburg, and Charlottesville.
