Democrat Ralph Northam has a five-point lead on Republican Ed Gillespie in the race for the open Virginia governor job, according to a poll released Monday by the University of Mary Washington.
A University of Mary Washington poll of Virginia voters’ preferences for president released this week gives Hillary Clinton a commanding lead among Democrats and Ben Carson a five-point lead on the field among Republicans.
Two Virginia public universities are ranked in the Top 5 of Kiplinger Magazine’s annual ranking of the “Best Values in Public Colleges.” The University of Virginia was ranked second, while The College of William and Mary stayed at number four. Five other Virginia universities also ranked in the magazine’s top 100, including James Madison University (22), Virginia Tech (27), The University of Mary Washington (61), George Mason University (72), and Christopher Newport University (84).
The University of Virginia improved to the number two spot in “best value in public colleges” in the annual Kiplinger ranking of the top 100 schools. Other Virginia schools ranked in the top 100 include the College of William and Mary (4), James Madison University (20), Virginia Tech (28), University of Mary Washington (53), George Mason University (56) and Christopher Newport University (87).
