A sinkhole located in the median of Interstate 81 southbound in Rockbridge County at mile marker 203.5 will be repaired on Wednesday beginning at 8 p.m.

A Central Shenandoah Planning District Commission project will bring broadband access to 492 unserved homes and businesses in Rockbridge County, as well as over 280 additional units.

Overnight closures of the on-ramps from Route 606 (Raphine Road) onto northbound and southbound Interstate 81 are scheduled for Sunday and Tuesday nights, May 17 and May 19.

Repairs to a sinkhole on the shoulder of Interstate 81 are scheduled for Monday, May 11. The sinkhole is located southbound at mile-marker 203.85 in Rockbridge County.

The public is invited to the second presentation of three in a series about water quality in Rockbridge County. The presentation will be held in Dunlap Auditorium, Lexington Presbyterian Church, 120 S. Main Street, Lexington.

Virginia State Police Trooper J.A. Paxton is investigating a motorcycle crash which resulted in a fatality. The crash occurred Sunday at 3:05 p.m. on Tye River Turnpike, one tenth of a mile west of Narrow Passage Lane in Rockbridge County.
