Columbia Gas of Virginia files to reduce prices entering peak winter months

Columbia Gas of Virginia has filed to reduce natural gas prices in time for the peak winter heating season. The proposed prices would result in a 10.26 percent decrease in total monthly customer bills when compared against the same period last year. The proposed prices would take effect November 30, 2015.

ESPN is thinking about a Nov. 21 College GameDay at Virginia Tech: Seriously?

Virginia Tech is “under consideration” to host ESPN College GameDay for Frank Beamer’s home finale on Nov. 21.

Um, yeah.

“While the slate of games on Nov. 21 is as competitive on paper as we will see all year, Coach Beamer’s last home game will be considered amongst the other games that will have an impact on the College Football Playoff,” GameDay producer Lee Fitting told the Richmond Times-Dispatch on Thursday.

Governor McAuliffe issues gag order to state agencies on natural gas pipelines

On Tuesday, The Roanoke Times reported that the decision to share pipeline comments with the governor’s office before making them public was one outcome of an Oct. 28 meeting in Richmond that included representatives from 13 state agencies involved in the permitting process or mitigation efforts for the proposed pipelines. The Times reported the purpose of coordinating with the Governor’s office was to “ensure that state agencies will speak about the pipeline projects in the same way.”
