The Virginia Senate voted Tuesday to pass a bill to repeal the mandatory ultrasound requirement that Republicans passed in 2012. Senate Democrats provided 19 of the 20 votes which produced a tie, broken by Democratic Lt. Gov. Ralph Northam.

ODU football Head Coach Bobby Wilder announced that 24 student-athletes signed on Wednesday to play football for the Monarchs in the fall of 2014. The 24 student-athletes that signed today join the seven commitments that Old Dominion signed at the mid-year period in December.

VMI head coach Sparky Woods today announced the signings of the 2014 football recruiting class. The group features 14 signees including nine that are defensive players. Eight come from the state of Virginia, and six from out-of-state. Six states are represented in this year’s signing day class.
