AAA: Gas prices inching upward after weeks of falls

The national average price of gas has seen a reversal of course this week, inching upward to $2.22 Sunday. Despite this slight uptick, the national average continues to sit at its lowest price for this date since 2007. Pump prices have declined by 9 cents month-over-month and motorists are benefiting from significant yearly savings, with today’s price 72 cents per gallon less than a year ago.

UVA is 19th most militarized university in the U.S.

According to a new analysis by Vice News, the University of Virginia is the 19th most militarized university in the United States. Vice News lists the top 100 in order, based on “the greatest number of students who are employed by the Intelligence Community (IC), have the closest relationships with the national security state, and profit the most from American war-waging.”

For the remainder of this week the overnight closures will revert to the previous 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.schedule.
