The Route 29 Project Delivery Advisory Panel will hold its regular biweekly meeting at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Virginia Center for Transportation Innovation and Research, 530 Edgemont Road, Charlottesville.

Work continues on and along the ramps serving McIntire Road and John W. Parkway in Charlottesville. Ramp closures are to be expected weekdays between 9am and 4pmuntil Friday, May 29th. Formal detour signage will be in place.

Charlottesville Parks & Recreation will open its two outdoor pools for the 2015 summer season beginning Saturday, May 23.

Chief Operating Officer/Chief Financial Officer Aubrey V. Watts Jr. has announced that he will retire from the City of Charlottesville at the end of July 2015.

The remaining holes of the McIntire Park golf course will close permanently May 31, 2015, allowing this area of the park to revert to passive use as outlined in the Adopted Master Plan for the park.

Charlottesville Area Transit (CAT) has delayed the install date for its new fare collection system. A new launch date has not been set.

On Tuesday, May 19, at 7 p.m. at Bridge Progressive Arts (209 Monticello Road, Charlottesville) the Shadows of Liberty USA Screening & Media Reform Action Tour will come to town for a special screening sponsored by Charlottesville Center for Peace and Justice, the Green Party of Virginia, Virginia AFL-CIO, Virginia Organizing, and WTJU Radio 91.1 FM.
