A group of Bridgewater College students will spend spring break volunteering as construction workers with Habitat for Humanity’s Collegiate Challenge Spring Break 2016.

Richard Adams, adjunct instructor of music at Bridgewater College, will present a recital at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 22.

Neal Hall, renowned African American poet and medical doctor, will present a reading of his work, at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 18 at Bridgewater College.

Dr. Azar Nafisi, author of Reading Lolita in Tehran: A Memoir in Books, will speak on “The Humanities and the Future of Democracy” at Bridgewater College.

Amy Tillerson-Brown, an associate professor of history at Mary Baldwin College, will speak on “Black Lives Matter: Movement and Misconceptions” on Feb. 9.

Bridgewater College offers a wide range of arts and events for the community to enjoy during the 2016 spring semester.

In an effort to improve safety, the Bridgewater Town Council voted on Tuesday to lower the speed limit on Dinkel Avenue, which bisects the campus of Bridgewater College.

Harrisonburg Mayor Christopher B. Jones will speak as part of Bridgewater College’s observance of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s birthday on Jan. 20.

Eric Kniss, instructor of art at Bridgewater College, will exhibit “Recent Works: Sculpture and Drawing” Jan. 4 – Feb. 3 in the Cleo Driver Miller Art Gallery on the college campus.
