Senior second baseman Casey Goss (Springfield, Mo./Glendale (Jefferson College)) posted a career-high five hits and tied career highs of three runs scored and three RBIs to charge the James Madison baseball offense in an 11-8 home victory over VMI.

Powered by a grand slam from sophomore shortstop Tyler Duke(Troutville, Va./James River) and solid hitting from the entire lineup, the James Madison baseball team defeated Hofstra 10-6 to complete the three-game sweep and open conference play undefeated. The Dukes moved to 9-6 on the season while the Pride fell to 3-11.

Junior third baseman Ty McFarland (Bridgewater, Va./Turner Ashby) hit a walk-off sacrifice fly in game one and the Dukes pounded out 18 hits in game two as the James Madison baseball team earned a doubleheader sweep over Hofstra at Veterans Memorial Park, Saturday. JMU won its Colonial Athletic Association opener 12-11, before taking game two, 18-13.

The James Madison University baseball team used quality pitching and a solid offensive attack to sweep a doubleheader from visiting Hartford, 10-2 and 6-2, March 2. With the wins, JMU improved to 5-6 overall, while the Hawks fell to 0-7.

Matt Brady, James Madison men’s basketball head coach, on Tuesday announced the addition of Lucious Jordan and Sam Dowell to the program’s staff. Jordan will serve as director of basketball operations for the Dukes while Dowell will fill the role of graduate assistant coach.
