The No. 25 UVa. baseball team scored 13 runs over the last four innings to rally and knock off East Carolina, 13-9, Saturday on a cold, blustery day at Clark-LeClair Stadium in Greenville, N.C. The Cavaliers (2-0) trailed 4-0 after five innings before scoring the next 13 runs of the game.

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit today ruled that Ophelia De’lonta stated a “plausible” claim that the Virginia Department of Corrections violated her constitutional rights when it refused to have her evaluated for sex reassignment surgery. The ruling allows Ms. De’lonta’s case to move forward in the lower court.

On a 24-16 vote Friday the Virginia Senate passed landmark employment protections for LGBT Virginians in state government. There are currently no protections in law for LGBT citizens who are discriminated against on the job in Virginia government.

“One-and-done” is a phrase oft-used to describe the NBA’s controversial draft eligibility rule. The Eastern Mennonite men closed their first half of the season with a solid win Wednesday night, beating Mary Washington 79-71 in non-conference action. The Runnin Royals built a big lead early and then held off UMW to enter the break with an 8-4 record.
