If you’re in the vicinity of Shenandoah Valley Airport on Thursday, you may see drone activity, but don’t worry, it won’t be the Martians, or Russians or Iranians.

It’ll be FAA-approved survey work, which will close the runway at SHD down from 2-4 p.m. on Thursday.

The survey, per a press release from the airport, is part of the recently completed runway rehabilitation project, and is a quality-control measure to ensure the upgraded infrastructure meets all plans and specifications.

“During the survey period, the public may notice drone activity in the vicinity of the airport. There is no cause for concern, as this is a scheduled and authorized operation,” the airport release said.
