Work to begin on Stone Spring Road Crossover at RMH

Work will begin soon on a crossover between the northbound and southbound lanes of Stone Spring Road where the northbound lane provides access to and from the RMH health campus.

The crossover will provide access between the campus and southbound Stone Spring Road. Currently, motorists can enter and exit the campus at northbound Stone Spring Road but cannot cross over to or from the southbound lane, explained Dennis Coffman, director, Facilities Planning and Development.

“This crossover will help make it more convenient to get on and off of the hospital campus,” Coffman explained. “Creating a crossover to the southbound lanes of Stone Spring Road has always been included in our site development activities. We are glad that all the preparations have been made so that work can begin.”

Coffman said Partners Excavating will be doing the work, which will begin on or around March 19 and take about a month, depending on weather. Coffman urges motorists to be alert and drive with caution while the work is being done.

“There may be lane closings and slower traffic, so we encourage all motorists to be extra-careful,” Coffman said. “Our first priority is safety.”
