Two goals in the final 16:31 helped the ETSU Bucs pull away and defeat the VMI Keydets, 3-0, in SoCon women’s soccer action Sunday afternoon in Johnson City, Tenn.
ETSU (9-4-1, 4-1 SoCon) had a 1-0 lead until the 74th minute, when Eleonora Goldoni converted a penalty kick for her SoCon-leading 11th goal of the season. An 88th-minute score by Thomai Vardali then accounted for the final margin.
In the loss, VMI (5-9, 2-3) goalkeeper Ceci Keppeler posted five saves to four for Anna Yancey of ETSU. The home team finished with a 14-8 edge in the shots and a 4-3 advantage in corner kicks.
