Women’s basketball: UVA plays two games at Florida Sunshine Classic

The UVA women’s basketball team (4-6, 0-0 ACC) will play two games at the World Class Basketball Florida Sunshine Classic Tournament, which is being held at Rollins College in Winter Park, Fla. Virginia will take on Alabama (7-4, 0-0 SEC) on Thursday, Dec. 20 and South Florida (9-2, 0-0 AAC) on Friday, Dec. 21. Both games tip at 4 p.m.

• The Cavaliers lead the ACC in blocked shots with 50 this season, an average of 5.0 per game
• Junior guard Jocelyn Willoughby (East Orange, N.J.) ranks 12th in the ACC in rebounding, averaging 8.0 per game
• Willoughby leads the ACC in three-point shooting, making 51.4 percent of her attempts (18-of-35)
• Willoughby has scored in double figures in seven of the last eight games
• Senior forward Mone Jones (Durham, N.C.) is among the conference leaders in free throw shooting. She ranks 14th with a 82.1 percent efficiency
• Junior forward Lisa Jablonowski (Ernster, Luxembourg) is averaging 3.0 offensive rebounds per game, putting her in the top-10 in the conference in that stat (ninth)
• In the last two games before the break, Jablonowski was a combined 8-of-15 (53.3 percent) from the field, averaging 10.0 points and 12.0 rebounds per game
• Jablonowski had her first career double-double against Radford with 11 points and 11 rebounds. It was also only the second time this year that the same player led the team in both scoring and rebounding (Dominique Toussaint led the team in points (18) and rebounds (9) against NC A&T)
• Either Willoughby or Jablonowski have led the team in rebounding in each of the last five games
