William and Mary football moves up in FCS rankings

Contributors

wm-logoAfter earning a 29-14 victory against Norfolk State in its home opener on Saturday, the William and Mary football team moved up in both major Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) polls this week. W&M is ranked No. 13 in The Sports Network Poll, while it is No. 17 in the Coaches Poll.

W&M’s spot in the TSN poll represents the program’s highest ranking since midway through the 2011 season.

The Tribe is off to a 2-1 start this season after earning victories against Hampton and NSU during the past two weeks. The Tribe’s lone loss came at Virginia Tech, a Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) opponent that defeated No. 8 Ohio State the following week.

The Tribe will return to action when it hosts Lafayette as part of Family Weekend on Saturday at 7 p.m.
