Henrico County: West Virginia man dead in early-morning crash on Interstate 295

A West Virginia man is dead following a fatal crash this morning on Interstate 295 northbound in Henrico County.

According to Virginia State Police, the crash occurred at 4:14 a.m. at the 45-mile marker.

Trequan Chandler died at the scene.

According to State Police, a Chevrolet Impala was travelling northbound on I-295 when it ran off the right side of the road, striking a tractor trailer that was stopped on the shoulder of the interstate.

Chandler was a passenger in the Impala. The name of the driver has not been released.

No other injuries were reported.

The crash is under investigation.
