Waynesboro Public Library hosts Holiday Handbell Concert

Contributors

Waynesboro Public LibraryThe Waynesboro Public Library will host the Mosaic Handbell Ensemble for a free holiday concert on Friday, December 7 at 7 p.m. The ten-member ensemble will perform seasonal and pop music, traditional Christmas carols from around the world, and modern favorites.

Librarian Rebecca Lamb says, “We brought Mosaic Ensemble to the library last year and had a huge crowd. Almost immediately, people began asking us to ‘bring the handbells back,’ so we were delighted to be on their performance schedule again this year.”

Mosaic is performing four times this holiday season, but only two events are free and open to the public. The group includes ten ringers who play three octaves of bells and five octaves of chimes, coordinating with each other to craft a magical presentation for all ages.

Nationally recognized composer and director Kath Wissinger founded Mosaic Handbell Ensemble in the fall of 2010. The ten-member group was formed to give dedicated ringers an opportunity to advance their skills and to promote handbell education through performance and community outreach programs.

The Waynesboro Public Library is located at 600 S. Wayne Avenue in Waynesboro. For additional information, call 540-942-6746 or visit www.WaynesboroPublicLibrary.org.
