Waynesboro names Jenny Harvey new tourism head

waynesboro2editsThe City of Waynesboro Office of Economic Development and Tourism announced that Jenny Carter Harvey has accepted the position of assistant director of economic development effective June 2, 2014.

Harvey has more than six years of experience in economic and workforce development including most recently as economic development and tourism manager for Rockingham County Virginia.

Harvey’s role in the city economic development office will be to continue and expand the city’s tourism efforts and to develop and implement a small business development strategy.  She will play an active role in the local, regional, and statewide tourism associations and marketing groups.

“We are pleased that Jenny will be joining our economic development team,” says Jim Shaw, Deputy City Manager in Waynesboro. “We are looking forward to her using her background and experience in continuing the forward momentum of the tourism department”.
