Waynesboro man charged with five counts of aggravated sexual battery

A Waynesboro man has been arrested after an extensive investigation into criminal incidents involving a juvenile victim.

Luis Ricardo Sanchez Solis, 45, was taken into custody in Nelson County without incident.

He has been charged with five counts of aggravated sexual battery and one count of possession of child pornography, according to the Waynesboro Police Department.

Police learned of the alleged offenses when responding to the 300 block of Evershire Street on Thursday afternoon.

The call was for disorderly conduct, but when police arrived, the individuals involved had already left the scene. While on the call, officers learned about alleged the alleged incidents involving the juvenile.

Based on the information, the WPD initiated a follow-up investigation which included multiple interviews and the execution of a search warrant in the 400 block of Florence Avenue on March 6.

Sanchez Solis is currently being held at the Middle River Regional Jail without bond.

This investigation remains ongoing.
