The Waynesboro Police Department has arrested a 37-year-old man on 12 felony warrants of possession of child pornography.

Robert Oaky Lafferty Jr., of Waynesboro, is being held without bond at Middle River Regional Jail.

Waynesboro detectives initiated an investigation after receiving a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children regarding an individual suspected of possessing child pornography within the City of Waynesboro.

Following a thorough preliminary investigation, detectives executed a search warrant on Jan. 31 at approximately 11 a.m. at a residence located in the 1800 block of Monticello Street.

As a result of the search, evidence was collected, leading to the arrest of Lafferty on 12 felony charges.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for March 24, according to online court records.
