Waynesboro: Kiwanis Club awards more than $10K in Community Grants

The Kiwanis Club of Waynesboro has awarded $10,540 in Community Grants to non-profit organizations serving Waynesboro and Augusta County.

Funding for the grants is made possible through the Kiwanis Fund managed by the Community Foundation of the Central Blue Ridge.

Fourteen applications were received in 2024.

“The Kiwanis Club of Waynesboro is excited to support these wonderful organizations that fill a need to serve the children and families of Waynesboro and Augusta County,” Kiwanis Club President Kristi Williams said.

2024 Grantees

  • Arc of Augusta: $1,200
  • Augusta Health Foundation: $1,740
  • Augusta Pediatrics: $500
  • Cinderella Project of the Shenandoah Valley: $400
  • Girls on the Run of Central Virginia: $1,500
  • HERO (Housing Emergency Relief Organization): $1,500
  • LIFEworks Project: $1,000
  • Valley Alliance for Education: $700
  • Wayne Theatre Alliance: $1,000
  • Waynesboro Family YMCA: $1,000

Spirit of giving

The Kiwanis Club also distributes club grants and maintains a budget to support programs in Waynesboro Public Schools, to provide scholarships, and to support other area organizations.

Annually, more than $45,000 is given back to the community.

The Kiwanis Club of Waynesboro will be celebrating its 100th year of service in 2025.
