Chris Graham

generals-lumberjacks3Starter Tyler Fox and three relievers combined to limited Covington to two hits, and the Waynesboro Generals won on the road, 4-0, Friday night.

Fox (freshman, Nebraska-Omaha) struck out seven and gave up just one hit in six innings of work to pick up his first Valley League win.

Terrance Dedrick (junior, Auburn) and Corbin Lucas (sophomore, Shenandoah) each had two hits and an RBI to pace the Generals offense.

Waynesboro improves to 5-5 with the win and remains two and a half games behind South Division leader Staunton in the league standings.

The Generals return home for the weekend to host a pair of games – against New Market on Saturday and against Harrisonburg on Sunday.

The Harrisonburg game will be a WSVA Waynesboro Generals Game of the Week broadcast. The broadcast begins at 6:30 p.m. with the pregame show hosted by Chris Graham.

Saturday’s broadcast will be on the Internet with Kris Neil handling the play by play and Chris Graham offering color commentary.
