Washington Redskins rout New Orleans Saints, 47-14

redskins-helmetKirk Cousins threw for a career-high four touchdowns, and the Washington Redskins torched the defenseless New Orleans Saints on Sunday, 47-14.

Cousins was 20-for-25 passing for 316 yards and had a career-high 158.3 passer rating against the Saints, who are 31st in total defense, 30th against the pass and 31st in scoring defense in 2015, and played like it against the ‘Skins.

Alfred Morris gained 104 yards on 15 carries for Washington (4-5), which led 27-14 at the half after scoring on five of their six drives in the opening two quarters.

For the game, the Redskins offense scored on eight of 10 possessions, and the ‘Skins defense also got in on the act, on a Dashon Goldson 35-yard interception return for a touchdown in the fourth quarter.

Matt Jones had 131 yards receiving on three catches and added 56 yards on the ground on 11 carries.

Drew Brees was 19-for-28 passing for New Orleans (4-5) for 209 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions, with an 83.8 passer rating.
