Washington Nationals top San Francisco in opener, 5-1

washington nationalsTrea Turner is living up to the hype. The Washington Nationals rookie homered for the second straight to key a 5-1 win over San Francisco Friday night.

Turner (.321/.353/.543, 2 HR, 12 RBI) was 2-for-4 with the homer, a solo shot in the fifth, and two runs scored.

Wilson Ramos (.332/.381/.545, 17 HR, 61 RBI) also homered for the Nats (65-44).

Gio Gonzalez (7-9, 4.13 ERA, 1.31 WHIP) was masterful, allowing a run on just two hits in seven innings, striking out seven and walking one.

Jeff Samardzjia (9-8, 4.40 ERA, 1.23 WHIP) took the loss for the Giants (62-47), giving up five runs on six hits in seven innings, striking out five and walking two.

Bryce Harper (.235/.377/.442, 20 HR, 57 RBI) was 1-for-3 with a sac-fly RBI.
