Daniel Murphy (.358/.398/.630, 21 HR, 80 HR) was 2-for-4 at the plate with a solo homer and two runs scored.
Trea Turner (.312/.346/.494, 1 HR, 11 RBI) hit his first MLB homer, a solo shot in the third.
Scherzer even got in on the offensive act, delivering a two-out, two-run single in the sixth.
Washington completed its road trip with a 6-3 record and now leads the NL East by seven games over second-place Miami (57-51).
