Bryce Harper and Danny Espinosa homered in a four-run Washington sixth to key a 7-4 Nats win over the Baltimore Orioles at Camden Yards on Saturday night.
Harper’s homer, a solo blast off Miguel Gonzalez (7-6, 4.24 ERA), was his 26th of the season, and made it a one-run game. Espinosa took Gonzalez deep later in the inning for a three-run shot to give the Nationals a 6-4 lead.
Caleb Joseph (6) and Steve Pearce (7) both homered off Washington starter Jordan Zimmerman (8-5. 3.22 ERA), who gave up four runs on nine hits in five innings of work.
Gonzalez gave up six runs on nine hits in five-plus innings.
Drew Storen gave up a hit and a walk in a messy ninth inning, but got Chris Parmalee and Adam Jones to fly out to end the game, and earned his 26th save.
Washington (47-39) has a two-game lead in the National League East. Baltimore (44-43) is in second place in the American League East, three games behind the New York Yankees.
