A walk-off Stephen Drew triple gave the Washington Nationals a 3-2 win over San Diego on Saturday.
The Nats (58-40) got seven solid innings from Max Scherzer (10-6, 2.92 ERA, 0.94 WHIP), who gave up two runs on four hits, striking out 10 without issuing a walk.
The only blow for the Padres (42-56) was a two-run second-inning homer by Ryan Schimpf.
Daniel Murphy (.349/.388/.611, 19 HR, 71 RBI) had an RBI sacrifice fly in the third for Washington, and Ben Revere (.216/.263/.303, 2 HR, 20 RBI) tied the game in the fifth with a run-scoring double.
Jonathan Papelbon (2-2, 2.56 ERA, 1.17 WHIP) got the win in relief, giving up a run and walking a batter in the ninth ahead of the walk-off hit.
