Washington Nationals fall to Tampa Bay, 5-3

Chris Graham

nationals_logoThe Washington Nationals lost another baseball game, and it lost star Bryce Harper in the sixth inning to a scary-looking knee injury on the wet outfield turf.

Harper lost his footing trying to make a throw on a single to right by Tampa Bay hitter Asdrubal Cabrera and went down awkwardly on the turf. He left after being on the ground for several minutes.

The Rays scored four in the sixth to take a 5-3 lead that held up as the final score, but the concern after the game was on Harper, who went 1-for-3 with a first-inning RBI single.

Doug Fister (2-3) took the loss for the Nationals, who have now dropped 15 of their last 21.
