Stephen Drew (.263/.324/.568, 7 HR, 16 RBI) had three doubles and scored two runs. Drew started a second straight night in place of All-Star second baseman Daniel Murphy, who is recovering from a hamstring injury suffered in the All-Star game earlier this week.

Gerrit Cole (5-5, 3.11 ERA, 1.37 WHIP) took the loss for the Pirates (46-45), giving up five runs, four earned, on seven hits in four innings, striking out five and walking two.
