Dalton Harum hit three of Virginia Tech’s five home runs Tuesday evening in a 13-1 victory over the VMI baseball team in a non-conference game.

Nick Biddison hit a grand slam as part of a five-run Hokie third inning. Kevin Madden and Harum hit home runs in the fifth to give Va. Tech a 10-1 lead. VMI scored its run in the fourth inning. Cody Warner walked with one out, Josh Hollifield singled and Nathan Loyd plated Warner with a double.

Callen Nuccio went 3-5 for the Keydets, his second-straight three-hit game. Hollifield tallied a hit and two walks, while Loyd and Warner each had a hit and a walk. Will Lopez and Corey Johnston each threw a scoreless inning out of the bullpen.

VMI left 10 runners on base; Va. Tech stranded seven.

Harum finished 3-5 with four RBI on the evening, hitting home runs in the fourth, fifth and ninth innings for the Hokies (17-12).

The Keydets (6-23) will host East Tennessee State University (ETSU) this weekend in a three game Southern Conference series. Games are slated for Friday (6 p.m.), Saturday (2 p.m.) and Sunday (1 p.m.).
