VMI alum Reggie Williams ’08 has signed a contract with the NBA’s Oklahoma City Thunder, according to information released by the team Monday evening. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Williams – the all-time Division I leading scorer in the state of Virginia – spent the 2015-16 season in Russia with Avtodor Saratov, appearing in 16 games and averaging 13.6 points on 58.8% shooting from the field including 40.7% from long distance, 3.3 rebounds and 2.3 assists in 25.0 minutes per contest.
The guard has appeared in 200 career NBA games (32 starts) with Oklahoma City, San Antonio, Charlotte and Golden State. He holds career averages of 7.9 points, 2.4 rebounds and 1.5 assists in 18.3 minutes.
Oklahoma City concludes its preseason schedule at home Tuesday, before beginning the regular season at Philadelphia on Oct. 26.
